Every encounter would be just like when a Reaper would jitter around and clip up onto the banks near the Aurora and become the dreaded Land Serpent. The other biomes that I've seen so far just don't have enough room for a leviathan to hang around, other than the thermal spires (and obviously the lily pads). I see it being in some caves, kind of like with the Ghost in the Lost River. A total of four Shadow Leviathans can be found in Sector Zero, two in the Fabricator Caverns and two in the Crystal Caves. It is the main threat of these cave systems and it will relentlessly hunt down its prey. Now, as for this guy, it's kind of a tough call. The Shadow Leviathan is a species of Leviathan-class predator found in the Crystal Caves and the Fabricator Caverns. He just ignored it while I zipped right inside in the Prawn. They also tend not to aggro your vehicles unless you are in them, so I parked my cyclops right by the Sea Emperor containment, and the Sea Dragon was RIGHT THERE. The aggro range on those is so small, and they spend so much time just circling around, so you can just speed right past them. Once I figured out that I could just set my Cyclops to "Full Nope Ahead" until I was outside of the aggro range for any given leviathan, they lost their terror. Just you and the deathly wail of your encroaching fate. Nothing will ever quite replace the terror for me of the Reaper during the early builds of Subnautica.
